The CR-V is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 14 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, although you can upgrade to the turbocharged 1.5-liter for a few more horses, ringing in at 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet or torque. The HR-V, on the other hand, only offers one engine choice in the 1.8-liter four-cylinder. It kicks up 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. Both model’s engines are paired to a CVT for greater fuel efficiency, and front-wheel drive is standard for both, although you can opt for all-wheel drive on either crossover.
The smaller HR-V measures 169 inches in length, nearly 70 inches wide, and 63 inches tall. It features some chrome accents and an easy to navigate dash inside. The larger CR-V rings in at 180 inches long, 73 inches wide, and 66 inches tall, and it provides a more athletic look and modern layout.
Standard features in the HR-V include a 5-inch LCD screen, Bluetooth, USB port, and multi-angle rearview camera. Step up to the Sport trim for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, an additional USB port, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The EX trim offers Honda LaneWatch and push-button start, while the EX-L adds on a 180-watt audio system. The top Touring trim provides satellite-linked navigation and the HomeLink Remote System.
In the CR-V, you’ll find the same standard 5-inch screen, Bluetooth, and USB port in the base trim. Level up to the EX for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and step up yet again for the HomeLink Remote System and satellite-linked navigation in the EX-L. In the Touring, you’ll find a 330-watt premium audio system with nine speakers and a hands-free power tailgate.
