How they are different:
Right off the bat, the main difference is the amount of seating. The 2019 Honda Passport is a great vehicle to have for all your daily commutes and weekend getaways. It is perfect for just you or a smaller family with its available seating for five. The Honda Pilot is great for when you are needing that extra space for your extracurricular activities and more room for your family thanks to its seven or eight passenger seats available. With the extra row of seats in the Pilot, you still get 16.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the seats for additional odds and ends.
The overall cargo space is larger in the Pilot compared to the Passport. The total volume in the Pilot is 83.9 cubic feet compared to the Passport’s 77.9 cubic feet.
From the outside, you will notice a major difference on how the rear looks. The Pilot has its reverse lights in the tailgate while the Passport has it backup lamps in the rear bumper. When the are both equipped properly to tow, they can both haul up to 5,000 pounds.
How they are similar:
The Honda Passport and the 2019 Honda Pilot both come with the same standard engine, 3.5-Liter i-VTEC® V-6. The Passport pairs it with a nine-speed automatic transmission while the Honda Pilot pairs it with a six-speed automatic for the LX, EX and EX-L trim levels. The Pilot has the nine-speed automatic for Touring and Elite grades.
They both come standard with the Honda Sensing safety systems which includes: Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Keeping Assist System and more. This is an excellent feature to have so you can be a safer and more confident driver.
The 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen infotainment system that connects with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Wi-Fi capabilities comes standard on certain trims. It is standard on the Honda Passport EX-L, Touring and Elite trims and the Honda Pilot EX, EX-L, Touring and Elite trim levels.
When looking at the Passport and Pilot directly from the front, the doors and front fenders are almost identical and the same goes for the hood and headlights.
